I loved it. I would recommend that before reading this book and starting this series to first read the Dark Sword Series by this author, as this is a spin off from it and is so intertwined you would be not get the whole history, reading experience or insight into a huge world that's been built before this story begins. With all that said this book was great and did not disappoint. After reading the whole Dark Sword series I had a real hard time understanding how the author would be able to tie the two series together, but she did and did so fabulously. With the introduction of the new characters, the crazy plot twist, well told action scenes, well written characters that are likeable and relatable, the romance is steamy but not over the top leaving you with a epic story you cant put down. I cant wait to dive into the next to see where the story takes us next.

Yet another great book in The Dark Warrior series. Loved reading this series. Just love all the characters. Can't wait to read the next one.
Midnight's Master is a continuing story about Druid women and Warrior men. The Warrior men somehow have an ancient god inside them, and when unleashed the men become immortal with certain powers over nature and excellent fighting abilities. There are plenty of "bad guys" for them to fight. It is all about Good versus Evil.
I read the whole book. It is an adequate story. However, the story didn't hold my attention enough to snuggle in for a good long read.
It's a good series but I would recommend reading from the beginning which is the series prior to Dark Warriors. Characters are nicely developed and the story is interesting. The only down side for me is that I end up turning a lot of pages because I don't read for the sex scenes. for me a little is more sexy than a lot!
Donna never disappoints with her story. She weaves enough magic to enrapture you in her tale.
Many I hear is disappointed with the direction Donna took with this series. Being the opposite I was intrigued, curious on how she was going to pull this off. To say that I anticipated this series is an understatement.
Have read the previous books in her series Logan is well known, that there was a deep shameful secret he'd been harboring close to his heart for years. Hints of that secret came out at the end of The Darkest Highlander.
So really Donna did not have to do a lot of build up for Logan. But for those who started with Midnight's Master without reading the Darksword books she touched on the important bits we learned about Logan from there. That he's tortured from his secret, tortured on what happened to his fellow Warrior in his presence and his need to find Ian and protect druids.
Gwynn - okay I was not sure on how to take her at first. She differed from the previous heroines. As we learn about Gwynn's background, the life she lead in the States with her parents my heart went out to her. At first I disliked her mother for causing her daughter to close off an important part of her. Soon that dislike shifted more and darker to her father.
Gwynn's character grew throughout the book. And it was not in BIG bounds but increments
However now the Warriors and Druids have another villian to worry about. Not only do they have to fight Diedre but another drough druid. So things in the plot thicken. Along with the villian a new ally shows up, a druid seer Saffron. Yeah I cannot wait for her book and it's obvious which Warrior she will be paired with.
There are several humerous scenes in this book. First one that comes to mind is Logan shaving with a pink shaver. The other is Logan's first introduction with a vehicle.
In some of her earlier novels in this series, I was miffed that the characters would slip in and out of their accents. Also, I found glaring grammatical errors in some of the books. Don't we pay these publishing houses enough? You would think they could get better proofreaders.
That being said, the series is wonderful and it keeps getting better. The way Mrs. Grant mixed the two different eras was pretty nifty. I'm looking forward to her next book.
I like that the Warriors have mates and are drawn to their mates but I'm getting a little tired of them always resisting, thinking they are not good enough for them. Honestly it has been the same with most of the Warriors. Other than that I enjoyed the book. The girl is strong and sweet and the hot warrior protects her and is instantly drawn. We meet a new adversary that rivals the old one. Also glimpses of what is happening to Ian in the end.
Donna Grant writes a very compelling and interesting story. The characters are well flushed out and the plot is intriguing. I found it a bit difficult to remember the numerous characters and how they all fit into the plot, not to mention their counterparts and powers. This book kept me reading well into the wee hours of the morning.
